Companies That Test On Animals

Many products, from cosmetics to household cleaners have been tested on animals. Each year, millions of animals including dogs, cats, rats, rabbits and primates are burned, poisoned, tortured and finally killed to produce new mascara, drain openers and other household and beauty products.

Cosmetics and product tests are not required by the Food and Drug Administration. The FDA only requires that each ingredient be "adequately substantiated for safety." Hundreds of companies have switched from animal testing to more effective, less expensive methods such as human skin patch tests, computer models or are using ingredients or combinations of ingredients already determined safe by the Cosmetics, Toiletry and Fragrances Association.

Cruelty-free products are not tested on animals. By switching to these products and boycotting companies that continue to use outdated and cruel animal testing, we can finally stop the suffering.

From 1985 to 1995 an estimated 500,000 animals were tortured and finally died at the hands of Proctor & Gamble. Please don't let their blood stain your hands.
