| In 1997 a bequest from the estate of Florence Bennet Moor helped to create a new and wonderful villiage for Best Friends wildcats. Here you can see one of the happy and contented felines now residing in this special place. It's filled with catnaps, sun baths and daydreams for one and all. Wildcats is a unique community of 25 separate, sheltered, outdoor colonies for cats who would not be comfortable in a family home. None-the-less, as you can see, the volunteers give them lots of love, canned & dry food, supplements and special treats in their special home. |

Senior dogs have their own Old Friends home where they have extra comfort and extra care. Bones need more warmth
in the winter and when it's warm, they need a place that's cool and quiet. Flint doesn't like to be with the
rowdy crowd but he sure likes having a place to watch.
Special Medical Care: Sometimes the members of the "Older Set" have special medical needs. They may have thyroid problems that need daily care or arthitis conditions that need special treatment. The facility provides constant surveillance of animals with lung and heart conditions, not to mention the extra hugs and kisses needed for recovery. |
| 2001: No More Homeless Pets! That's the goal of Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and their faithful donors. It's an ambitious goal but it's a dream that can come true. Animal lovers across the country are working together to bring good fortune to animals like the ones you see here. Pavarotti roamed the streets singing for his supper until he found Stacy. Now he's cherished. |

There are never less than 1500 animals at Best Friends. The dogs
eat 10 tons of dry kibble and 4,000 cans of moist food each month. The cats eat 1 ton of dry food, 3,760 cans of
moist food and 100 pounds of special diet food each month. They also use 3 tons of kitty litter. Hundreds of
pounds of grain and tons of hay are fed to horses and burros while rabbits nibble their way through 1,500 pounds
of carrots. Birds peck their way through 1,500 pounds of seeds and other food.
